An Inspiring Journey of a Zilla Parishad School Teacher

Tucked away in Autade Mala–Wategaon hamlet of Walwa taluka in Sangali district is a small Zilla Parishad Primary School with just ten students from grades 1 to 4. Established in 1987, the school may be small in size, but it overflows with curiosity, laughter, and a strong sense of togetherness. What truly sets this school apart today is its inspiring journey with the Mulyavardhan 3.0 programme.
At the heart of this transformation is Ms. Anjali Yadav, the Headmistress and grade 3 teacher. Having earlier served as a State Resource Group (SRG) trainer for Mulyavardhan, she brought her deep understanding of the programme into everyday classroom practice. Along with her colleague Ms. Damayanti Sawant, who teaches grades 2 and 4, Ms. Anjali ensures that learning goes far beyond textbooks.
Through regular Mulyavardhan sessions, children learn to listen, discuss, reflect, and learn from one another. Classroom rules are co-created; a quiet signal replaces raised voices, and stories spark meaningful conversations. Students also contribute ideas—one rule suggested by a grade 4 student is now proudly displayed in the classroom.
The impact of Mulyavardhan has been just as powerful for the teacher herself. Ms. Anjali shares that the programme helped her look inward, develop self-awareness, and practice calmness—not just in school, but at home too. After being transferred to this school in 2025, she wasted no time. Even before receiving activity books, she photocopied materials and began sessions immediately, driven by her belief in the programme.
Looking ahead, Ms. Anjali hopes to strengthen community involvement, improve school facilities, and continue Mulyavardhan activities to increase enrolment. Her journey shows how value-based education can transform classrooms, teachers, and communities— proving that even the smallest schools can nurture the strongest values.

“Mulyavardhan helped me understand that children are always learning—when they talk, reflect, and grow together. It also helped me become calmer and more aware as a person.”
