A Statewide Celebration of Values: How Constitution Day United Maharashtra’s Schools

Samvidhan Din—Constitution Day 2025—became a powerful reminder of how deeply values can take root when children, teachers, and communities come together with purpose. Under the guidance of SCERT, Pune, and with support from the Shantilal Muttha Foundation, schools across Maharashtra turned this day into a vibrant celebration of democracy, creativity, and collective learning.

SCERT encouraged schools to mark Constitution Day with activities that helped students understand the importance of the Indian Constitution and honour the legacy of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. From rallies and pledge-taking to quizzes, seminars, songs, and street plays, each activity reflected the spirit of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity—the core values of the Constitution and the foundation of the Mulyavardhan 3.0 programme.

What followed was an overwhelming response.
Across 36 districts and 398 talukas, an incredible 24,764 schools shared photos and videos of their celebrations on the Foundation’s reporting platform. More than 1,37,000 teachers and 33 lakh students took part, turning Constitution Day into a statewide festival of ideas and expression.

Schools showcased remarkable creativity:
- 16,981 schools organised rallies.
- 14,976 held drawing and poster competitions.
- 8,061 conducted quizzes.
- 7,133 arranged seminars.
- 5,281 presented songs and powadas.
- 4,851 formed human chains to symbolise unity.
- 5,070 built “I Love Constitution” selfie points.
- 3,728 conducted craft competitions.
- 1,965 performed street plays.

The enthusiasm reached the state leadership as well. Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, appreciated the initiative and commended the Foundation for nurturing constitutional values among children.
