Under the visionary leadership of its Hon’ble Administrator Shri Praful Patel, the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (DNH&DD) has embraced Mulyavardhan, to instill core human values among students of grades 1 to 8 across all schools in the UT.

A deep immersion into the education system enabled us to see how values were being taught, and how they might be lived. This was the seed of Mulyavardhan.

Pilot phase commenced in two tehsils of Maharashtra. Impact assessed by experts from the University of Cambridge and NCERT.

Scaled in 6 languages to more than 68,000 schools across Maharashtra and Goa, impacting 45 lakh students, through both government and aided schooling systems. Dialogue initiated by officials of DNH&DD for introduction of Mulyavardhan.

Aligned with NEP 2020; NCF 2023; social, emotional and ethical development (SEED) competencies; and curricular goals of language, social sciences, physical and mental well-being.

The Union Territory decided to implement Mulyavardhan in grades 1 to 8 of all Gujarati, Marathi, and English medium schools across Silvassa, Daman, Diu, and Khanvel tehsils, covering 96,000+ students.

The movement kicked off with a four-day workshop for creating a cadre of 68 master trainers (9 to 12 December 2024). With support from SMF, these trainers in turned teachers of grades 3 and 5, who are covered under the first phase of implementation.

With continuous monitoring by Shri Jatin Goel, Director (Education), and field support provided by a dedicated team of Shantilal Muttha Foundation, this initiative is sowing the seeds for a values-driven generation in the UT.

Together, we are not just teaching values; we are shaping a brighter tomorrow for the children of this vibrant union territory.
