MV PROJECT – UT OF DADRA and NAGAR and HAVELI and DAMAN and DIU

Under the leadership of the Hon’ble Administrator of Union Territory of Dadra Nagar and Haveli and Daman and Diu (DNH&DD), Shri Praful Patel, the Union Territory has given high priority to the implementation of value education in schools across the Blocks of UT.

Government of UT DNH&DD and Shantilal Muttha Foundation entered into a partnership in June 2023 for implementation of Mulyavardhan in 349 Primary and Elementary schools across the territory covering 3058 teacher and 96473 children (Class 1-8) from Gujarati, Marathi and English medium schools. This program will be implemented for 03 (three) years under the ownership of Govt of DNH &DD and SMF will provide technical support through co-creation of content, developing capacities of master trainers and monitoring & evaluation of the program.

To enable teachers to effectively implement Mulyavardhan program in schools, teachers capacity building is planned in two stages:

  • Centralized training of government state resource group members by SMF staff
  • Practice of MV activities by trained SRGB members in their respective schools for 3-4 months
  • Block-level training of teachers by SRG members.

As part of this process, training of 68 State resource group members (Gujarati, Marathi and English medium) conducted by SMF team from 9-12 December 2024. These SRG members started implementing Mulyavardhan in their respective schools.

KEY SUGGESTIONS

  • Training should be planned for schools with more than one teacher, ensuring that all teachers who will be conducting value education classes are trained.
  • For the benefit of all concerned, such training programs should be held before the start of the academic year.
  • The print order for books should include copies for teachers (as per the medium of instruction), and teachers should receive these books well before the training.
