THE ORGANIZATION

The Shantilal Muttha Foundation (SMF) is a non-profit organisation founded by Mr. Shantilal Muttha in 2015 with an objective to bring about fundamental changes in school education.

SMF, registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 1956, is headquartered in Pune.

To ensure that all children get an education that will help them become caring, responsible and productive citizens.

To help school-systems, schools and teachers, enrich their capacities for fostering the all-round development of children.

While school-transformation involves working on multiple aspects, we are currently focused on two inter-linked areas, in which we have considerable in-house expertise:

1. Education for values
2. School quality assessment

STRATEGY

SMF works through an empowerment strategy. Working closely with key stakeholders in the school system, it seeks to enhance their capacities for the effective implementation of school-transformation initiatives.

For this purpose, SMF provides educational materials, training and implementation support, according to the terms of agreement with respective school bodies. SMF also conducts studies to establish and enhance the impact of its various programmes.
